Dislaschal Lighting

Light studies

Numbered field notes from Graz commissions. Names and exact addresses stay private; districts and layer choices are real.

01
Jakomini · Ambient rebuild

Street-facing salon with sodium spill

A second-floor living room faced a busy tram line. Evening ambient had been raised until the space felt clinical, yet faces still looked orange from outdoor spill. We dropped ambient to 2700 K at mid level, added linen-shaded wall grazers, and taught a Host scene that kept interior walls brighter than the curtain glow.

Task reading moved to a narrow floor lamp so novels no longer forced the whole room bright. Design fee sat inside Full Stack at €3.100.

02
Lend · Task kitchen

Concrete loft galley under six metres

Exposed concrete drank warm light and under-cabinet strips were missing. A single industrial pendant glared on the stone counter. We kept the pendant as ambient-adjacent glow, added high-CRI linear task at 3000 K, and shielded the glass splashback with a cut-off profile.

Standalone Task Focus at €420 plus roughly €310 in strip hardware purchased locally.

03
Herrengasse side street · Entry

Vestibule that swallowed guests

A deep vestibule with one cool LED left coats and faces in shadow. We introduced 2700 K ambient, a vertical accent on plaster art, and a 2200 K Night Path strip at skirting height. Shared stairwell fittings stayed untouched.

Entry & Threshold package €540; nosing and graze hardware near €390.

04
Jakomini courtyard · Scenes

Four scenes, two dimmers, zero app anxiety

A young family wanted smart control but refused a tablet-only home. We programmed Evening, Cook, Host, and Night Path on two physical scene plates with matching app backups. Leading-edge dimmers were swapped for trailing-edge units to stop bedroom flicker.

Scene mapping €280 plus electrician hardware; fine-tune visit €120 after sofas arrived.

05
Lend · Full stack loft

Open volume, three layer stack

A warehouse conversion had one giant pendant and empty corners. Ambient went into a perimeter cove at 3000 K, task into kitchen and desk arms, accent onto a stair steel stringer. Kelvin tables kept every layer aligned so dimming never produced mixed colour puddles.

Full Stack €4.400 for design; fixture spend left to the client’s supplier list.

06
Outer Jakomini · Rental constraint

No new cables, still three layers

A rented flat banned wall chasing. We rebuilt ambient with dimmable LED replacements, added plug-in grazers for accent, and used a high-quality desk lamp for task. Scene logic lived in lamp groups rather than new loops.

Layer Audit €190 then Ambient Base adapted for rental at €980.
